From
The Editor
Here it is another two weeks have gone buy. There is just so much to
tell. I think at this time of year I could do a weekly newsletter and not
run out of items to use. Mind you, I would never leave my computer if
that was the case, and I wouldn't be enjoying my own horses.
With the warmer
weather finally upon us, I have a tough time staying in the house to
work. It does make it easier with all the wonderful comments I receive
from everyone on the bi-weekly Equine Niagara News. Advertisers are
starting to call - that's a good thing! I need something for all this
time - love doesn't put food on the table.
I think the part I am
enjoying most is meeting everyone. I have met so many new people in the
last month - Laura and Mike from Sunridge Stables, one of the ladies
helping with the organization of the Niagara Hoe Down (can't wait for
that event - will be there with bells on - well maybe horse-hair
tassels), a gentleman that opened up his property to us for an
exploratory ride to see if it's feasible for trail use (that's another
story), the women from Cinch Magazine and True Cowboy Magazine (now
there's an interesting lady) and so many more.
Please send in your
information and photos too. I can't possibly get to every event -
although I would like to. I think we as horse enthusiasts are as curious
as our horses. Always wanting more information about our favourite pass
time.
I hope you enjoy this
latest issue as much as I enjoy putting it together. Send me an email or
call with your comments - good or bad. I want to know. And, if there is
something specific you want to know about - let me know that as well.
I'll see what I can do to get the information for you.
Also, please find it
in your hearts to help through donations or attending the fundraisers on the
23rd for the Dykstra's and the Bilyea's after two horrific barn fires.
Your support will be greatly appreciated.
So until next time,
I'm off at a trot for the next issue.

"Nice job on the newsletter, Debi!"
Jenn P.
Deb...once again, I have to tell you, you do a fantastic job with
this publication. My boss might not agree, I am going to be LATE
for work due to reading it this morning! There are so many
interesting stories, links, etc.
Congrats, Deb...this is what we really need in a publication. And
by the way, I never even got a courtesy copy of the publication with our
article. Do you have a copy? I couldn't download it so have
nothing. One giant pain in the butt. Very disappointing
as we put hours and our heart and soul into that article.
Your is great though...I would like to put something in about summer
camp!

Sunridge Stable
- New Boarding Facility
The cute and fun-looking website of Sunridge Stables truly represents
the owners Laura Hamilton and Mike Novotny. Laura and Mike recently
moved to the Niagara Region from the Kitchener area, buying the
property at 3212 Forkes Road, Port Colborne to make their dream come
true.
The farm has 48 stalls available for boarding, an arena, outdoor riding
ring, plenty of turnout and a a young couple dedicated to the care of
the horses. Laura has worked as an instructor in the past, and has
plans to provide lessons in the future. For the time being she is
concentrating on establishing the farm as a boarding stable.
