If you're reading this it's because it's still raining out today I'm
sure. Most of us no longer spend us many hours in front of the computer
now that the warm weather is here and we're out with our horses, riding,
showing, enjoying the great outdoors! I find that I have no choice to be
on the computer to keep up with everything for this newsletter plus my
client's work and chatting with everyone as it seems no one uses a phone
any more. In some cases that's good - I'm not a phone person. But on the
same hand, all too often the written word is not perceived in the context
it is meant all the time. I think we just need to spend a little more
time thinking before we type and all will be well.
Anyway, enough
jibberish. This issue is filled with interesting stories, local and
worldwide, lots of hints, tips and events. It is always tough determining
what should go in each issue of Equine Niagara News. Here's where you can
help, drop me an email or write on facebook - anything just let me know
what you would like to see in each issue. More product info, more stories
about people and their horses, more event coverage - what? I value your
input and want to keep every one interested in reading and up-to-date on
local happenings. I'm sure, I still haven't begun to get it all - there's
just so much going on out there.
New this issue, you
will find a section called "In Stride" - a feature to showcase
unique equine products that you may find useful, or haven't heard about
before. Also, as far as the website
goes - the new site is growing with the addition of the blog
last issue and this issue we've added a Discussion
Forum - be sure to voice your opinions there, chat with your
friends, start a new topic - everything goes. Well almost everything -
the forum is not the place for advertising - just opinions and questions.
Check it out when you get a moment.
Now as horse
enthusiasts are generally generous people, I would like to ask that you
take the time to participate in three charitable events happening - the
first being Reign Equestrian's
Store Wide Sale from May 30th - June 7th.
I know - you're asking how is this charitable - well first of all you are
saving on your purchases, but more importantly, a portion of the sales
from this week will be given to Whispering
Hearts Horse Rescue. The second is Upper
Canada's Trail Ride for Breast Cancer
taking place on June 7th. If you can't participate in the ride itself,
please take the time to make a donation by clicking
here or calling our office at 905-684-6030 for details on how
to make a contribution to the event. And last, but certainly not least is
the Niagara Hoe-Down coming
up in June with proceeds from this fun event going to the Regional
Niagara Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Details are here in the newsletter
for all three events.
So now, I've probably
bored you to death with my yimmering and yammering, but all a necessary
part of this newsletter. So please read on, enjoy and definitely email me your comments and requests.
Until next time, ride
on!
Debi Katsmar.

I'm
looking for a round bale feeder, with a solid bottom. I like the kind
Minor bros has, but they are $400.00 If you know of anyone selling for
less than $300. Could you let me know or spread the word? I'll take a old
used feeder as long as it's safe. Thanks!

Cedar
Ridge Jumper Show This Weekend
A welcome schooling show for those aspiring to higher levels as a
jumper. Too often there are no local schooling level shows geared
specifically to jumpers, leaving competitor's to show their horses as
hunters - just to get the show experience. Of course, one can travel to
Black's or Twinholm, but when you're learning the ropes, it's nice to
start in your own backyard. Cedar Ridge has been holding their
jumper show for the past few years, each year having more and more
competitors, better prizes and most importantly a lot of fun.
This year the Cedar Ridge Jumper Show has added a class to each of the
3 divisions (Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced). So now the
division includes a clear round, gambler's choice, Table A speed round
and a stake class. Entries are $50/division. For more information

"Great job on the ENN !!! Thanks for providing a great read with
my morning coffee." Jenn M.
"Keep up the fabulous work." Krista M.
"Awesome story, thank you so much!!!!!!" Brenda M.
Just wanted to drop a line and say that you are doing a great job
on the newsletter and its contents. I love the set up and the way
you have arranged the information. Just thought I'd let you
know. I've been doing the newsletters and secretary work for the
local Dunnville saddle club this year and know how much work that is so
I can't imagine how much you have to do to keep up. Quite often
we only hear the complaints and not the praise so I thought I'd drop
a note to thank you for your hard work.
