8th Annual "A Celebration of H.A.T.S." Spring Fundraiser

  Horse Alternative Therapeutic Services (H.A.T.S.) held its 8th annual spring fundraiser at Hernder Estate Wines on Saturday, March 28, 2009.
  The event was a great success, with almost 200 people in attendance.  Dedicated volunteers were able to collect approximately 130 silent auctions from generous donors, and between the silent auction proceeds and the ticket sales from the event, over $6,500.00 was raised to support the non-profit therapeutic riding program.
  New this year for the event was a live band.  Garner is a young, up-and-coming group whose energy was definitely transmitted to the crowd.  Next year's event will have to have a bigger dance floor!
  Also this year a new chef, who added roast potatoes, sauteed baby carrots, and roast beef to the usual menu of beef on a bun. Friends and board members also contributed penne pasta, baked beans, and meatballs.  All of the food was delicious and there was plenty to go around.
  This event was a lot of fun, and the food, the band, the silent auction and the multitude of door prizes made it well worth the ticket price of only $20.00.
