With so many people utilizing the internet for every aspect of their life - work, play, shopping, travel, research and news - it's no wonder many publications are going green. Paperless that is. Not only is it much less costly than publishing a printed version, the savings can be passed on to you the reader and the all important advertiser, and most importantly we're saving the trees. Read on to find out about two other unique equine magazines Cinch Magazine and True Cowboy Magazine.
While we here at Equine Niagara News, can say we have gone green, our reality is that to distribute news to the local Niagara area in a timely, and up-to-date manner, it just wasn't feasible to try and go to print. The combination of the website and the bi-weekly newsletter keep all informed much quicker and easier than trying to print and distribute. By the time the publication is designed, sent to print, bound and distributed the news is old. The website itself offers daily updates, current stories and most importantly all the equine events. The bi-weekly newsletter sums it all up. Our readership is extremely high. Stats on the website are growing by 40% per month. Of those in the email database 52% of people receiving the newsletter by email are opening, reading and following the links (54% follow at least one link). These statistics far surpass the industry standard of 18-22%.
Two other unique magazines we have found that have gone green are Cinch Magazine and True Cowboy Magazine. Cinch is also a local publication, published by two Niagara women with a desire to keep all us equine enthusiasts informed and with interesting and current articles. True Cowboy Magazine is based in the US and was initially started by a woman to aid in her efforts to raise awareness of the plight of the wild mustangs.
Initially plans were for stories about these two magazines - however when I received the details from them - it's just too much info for one issue. So stay tuned for upcoming issues with features on both magazines - in the meantime, visit their sites www.cinchmagazine.com and www.truecowboymagazine.com.
